The Alfa Romeo RZ is a true rarity and represents Alfa Romeo's attempt to stir the stagnant waters of its production lineup in the late 1980s. The first model produced was the coupe called SZ, with the first eleven cars delivered to customers in 1989. The peak of SZ production was in 1990 and 1991. A total of 1,036 coupes were built, all left-hand drive. After the SZ production ended, the roadster called the RZ was introduced, with a planned production of 350 cars. However, only 278 units were produced by 1994, likely due to the fact that each car was extremely expensive (for comparison, it was twice as expensive as the flagship Alfa Romeo 164 at the time). The technology was the same, with a 3.0 liter V6 engine producing 210 horsepower under the hood, a chassis and suspension derived from the Alfa Romeo 75 Group A (effectively a racing car), a five-speed manual gearbox in the rear axle area (transaxle), and a sci-fi style body designed by Robert Opron and assembled by Zagato (who had more influence on the roadster's design). For the RZ, several colors were available – in addition to the standard black, there were also yellow, red, and silver, with one example even being white.

The offered Alfa comes from the end of the production cycle (the label near the gearstick shows number 258) and was originally sold to its first owner in Germany according to available documents. From there, it went to a sales gallery and, in 2017, was imported to the Czech Republic, where the current owner registered it. The car is in overall very good condition and requires only minor, mostly preventive servicing and some attention to the suspension. Otherwise, it runs perfectly, drives beautifully, handles well, brakes well, and everything is fully functional. A unique Alfa Romeo built on quality technology – and thanks to the fact that the body panels are made from Modar methacrylate reinforced with fiberglass, you don’t have to worry about rust, which is a nice advantage.
