In the realm of automotive history, certain cars stand as icons, transcending the bounds of time to etch themselves into the collective consciousness of enthusiasts worldwide. Among these legends, the 1991 Lancia Delta Integrale Evoluzione holds a special place, revered for its rally heritage, groundbreaking technology, and timeless design.
Rally Roots:
The Lancia Delta Integrale Evoluzione was born from a rich lineage of rally dominance. Its predecessors had already proven their prowess in the grueling World Rally Championship (WRC), securing numerous victories and championships. Building upon this success, Lancia embarked on a mission to create a road-going version that captured the essence of their rally machines.
Technological Marvel:
At the heart of the Delta Integrale Evoluzione beats a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four engine, delivering power to all four wheels through a sophisticated all-wheel-drive system. This drivetrain, coupled with advanced suspension geometry and a nimble chassis, endowed the Evoluzione with unparalleled agility and traction, both on and off the tarmac.
Evolving Excellence:
Launched in 1991, the Evoluzione represented the pinnacle of Lancia's development efforts. Building upon the foundation laid by its predecessors, it boasted enhancements in aerodynamics, engine output, and handling dynamics. These refinements were not merely cosmetic; they were the result of relentless engineering refinement, aimed at pushing the boundaries of performance and reliability.
Aesthetic Elegance:
While its performance credentials were beyond reproach, the Delta Integrale Evoluzione also captivated onlookers with its striking design. Flared wheel arches, aggressive air intakes, and a purposeful stance hinted at its rally-bred DNA, while subtle details like the integrated rear spoiler and iconic grille added a touch of sophistication to its aesthetic allure.
Enduring Legacy:
Despite its limited production run, the Lancia Delta Integrale Evoluzione left an indelible mark on automotive history. Its dominance in motorsport, coupled with its unparalleled on-road performance, cemented its status as a cult classic among enthusiasts. Today, well-preserved examples command premium prices on the collector's market, serving as a testament to its enduring legacy.
Conclusion:
In the annals of automotive history, few cars can claim the same level of reverence and admiration as the 1991 Lancia Delta Integrale Evoluzione. From its rally roots to its technological prowess and timeless design, it embodies the spirit of automotive excellence in its purest form. As enthusiasts continue to cherish and celebrate its legacy, the Evoluzione stands as a testament to the enduring allure of automotive greatness.
The Lancia Evoluzione on offer is more or less in original condition, with nice bodywork and paintwork. It has minor imperfections showing its age in some places, including small bubbles around the windscreen for example. Otherwise, it looks very good both outside and inside. Inside, some of the indicators on the dashboard do not work - will require care. As the car has been sitting and not driven for two years, it will certainly need some major servicing, but mainly preventative (car starts and drives beautifully, warms up normally, turbo noticeably pushes). The chassis should be also checked, maybe it will also need some care. Last thing that should be checked is the clutch, but otherwise it looks mechanically sound. The car is fitted with larger, 17-inch correct style wheels. The car has had multiple owners in the Czech Republic and currently the documents are in deposit. We will of course be happy to help sort out registration, MOT and anything else.
