The first-generation BMW M3 (E30) was designed in the mid-1980s by BMW’s Motorsport Division for homologation in DTM racing and Group A competitions. This radically redesigned car, featuring distinctive widened fenders and aerodynamic modifications, shared very little with the standard 3-Series lineup. The model was equipped with a 2.3-liter four-cylinder S14 engine producing 200 PS, with a redline at 7,250 rpm. The Getrag 265 gearbox featured a “dogleg” shift pattern in the European version, and a limited-slip differential was standard equipment. Production ran between 1986 and 1991, with over 15,000 units built, of which 5,300 were destined for the USA. The European markets were offered several exclusive versions, including the Evo I, Evo II, and Lightweight.

This particular example, from the first AK01 production series, is one of the initial 3,000 units produced exclusively for the European market. The production date is January 21, 1987, placing it among the last cars of the first series before the arrival of the EVO I model. The vehicle is powered by a 220 PS engine, identical to the Evolution model, making it a rare and highly sought-after specification. The original Hanna Red color has been repainted to period-correct Alpine White, now complemented by blue and gold accents. The interior remains original, finished in black Bison leather. The car has 151,500 km on the odometer and is in very good technical condition. This vehicle, now registered as a historic car in the Czech Republic, comes from an intriguing private collection.
